IMBC sets conference field trip schedule

The International Marina & Boatyard Conference staff finalized the agenda for its annual pre-conference marina field trip.

The field trip on Jan. 30 will include the Marina at Bahia Mar, The Marina at Marina Bay and the Roscioli Yachting Center.

Produced by the Association of Marina Industries, the IMBC is scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Fort Lauderdale.

“The IMBC field trip nicely supplements our seminar and workshop program, exhibit hall and networking events with a hands-on educational experience,” AMI president Jim Frye said in a statement. “The field trip is highly popular and provides an additional networking opportunity for our participants.”

From noon to 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 30, field trip attendees will visit three discrete marinas: Marina at Bahia Mar, a 40-acre, 250-slip megayacht facility that can accommodate vessels as large as 250 feet; The Marina at Marina Bay, a resort-like marina with amenities such as a pool, a billiard room, theater, gym and Internet café; and the Roscioli Yachting Center, a state-of-the-art, full-service marina and boatyard with onsite carpenters, electricians, mechanics and designers.

All three marinas are in Fort Lauderdale, and participants will return in time for the 4 p.m. AMI Member Meeting at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. The conference exhibit hall opens at 6 p.m. that day for an opening reception and IMBC seminars begin at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 31.

Certified Marina Managers who attend the field trip will receive four contact hours. Registration costs $45 for AMI members and $75 for non-members. Participants must be pre-registered. For more information, please visit MarinaAssociation.org/IMBC or call (401) 682-7334.
