Australian boater crashes trailered vessel into pole

Much of the boating in the northern United States has gone dormant for the winter, but the summer season is in full swing in the Southern Hemisphere and it's producing plenty of boating accidents.

From Australia comes a report of a 25-year-old who managed to crash his aluminum boat while trailering it home from a day on the water.

The boat, valued at about $40,000, is a total write-off. The intrepid skipper now faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated.
