NMMA report shows Canada as top export spot

New data show that U.S. exports of boats and engines continue to rise.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association released the top 10 destinations for U.S.-manufactured recreational boating products, with the top destination going to Canada.

The top 10 list is as follows:

1. Canada,

2. Australia

3. Belgium

4. Mexico

5. Brazil

6. Italy

7. Netherlands

8. Germany

9. Turkey

10. Spain

With more than 95 percent of the world’s consumers outside the United States, the NMMA’s Export Development Program is designed to help members grow their export business. The association has partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce to help manufacturers better home in on certain markets.

Companies that export are more profitable, pay higher wages and are better able to navigate seasonal and domestic downturns, the NMMA said in a statement.
