MIAMI VIDEO: Raymarine talks about new products

MIAMI BEACH — Raymarine unveiled a half dozen products at the Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show, covering everything from sonar to a thermal imaging camera to an autopilot system.

"In the consumer electronics industry new innovative product is the lifeblood of our business," marketing director Jim Hands said Friday. "We've gotten some really good feedback from consumers."

I tried out the sonar system on a 24-foot Sea Hunt and will file a report in an upcoming Trade Only Today.

Here are some of the products that Hands talks about:

• New CHIRP-powered Dragonfly sonar/GPS with high-resolution DownVision imaging.

• gS Series Glass Bridge multifunction displays, with a multi-touch control premium navigation system and gigabit networking.

• Evolution autopilots — a breakthrough in autopilot intelligence, according to the company.
