National sailing group launches photo contest

The American Sailing Association, which is celebrating 30 years serving its national sailing community, is accepting photos for the ASA 30th Anniversary Photo Contest.

Through March 30, ASA members and other sailors can show off their creative amateur photography skills through a sailing-related photo contest on ASA’s Facebook page.

Contest categories include:

• Best Action Sailing Photo — to be chosen by ASA’s Facebook fans

• Best ASA Sailing Photo (which must depict the ASA logo or name) — to be chosen by ASA staff

• Best Sailing Lifestyle Photo / Editor's Choice Award — to be chosen by the editor of the American Sailing Journal, ASA’s quarterly publication

Interested shutterbugs can either post their photo or photos, as multiple submissions are allowed, to ASA’s Facebook timeline with a brief description or email their submissions to Ben Miller at ASA at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Prizes, including limited-edition ASA 30th anniversary sailing gear, will be awarded for these and other surprise categories at the conclusion of the contest.
