YachtWorld.com reports that Sea Ray and Catalina topped the list of brands and models sold in the important markets of Florida, New York, California and Michigan during 2007.
Overall, Sea Ray had the strongest showing among powerboats. Catalina was the most-sold manufacturer of sailboats in all markets with the exception of New York, where Hunter had a stronger showing. Comparing the average price of the top 10 manufacturers between all four of these important markets, Florida, with larger-sized boats, rises to the top with an average price of $79,737. California follows with an average of $66,036, New York with $51,470 and Michigan with $40,175. The average price has a direct correlation with boat sizes. |
