Longtime trailer executive retires
EZ Loader vice president Gary Potter will retire soon, according to the company. Potter joined EZ Loader Custom Boat Trailers in 1995 as general manager and vice president.
“Through the years, Gary exhibited exceptional customer service through his travels to our EZ Loader customers while providing innovative custom designs,” wrote EZ Loader president Randy Johnson in a letter to employees. “He earned the trust and business of our customers by delivering a high-quality, customized boat trailer to our customer’s specific needs.”
Potter was also active with industry associations, having served as NMMA chairman and president of the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers. He also served on many other industry boards. “He brought the NMMA and BTMA much closer to the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers and brought us into the age of joint inspections between the organizations,” Johnson added. “He ensured boat trailers contributed in a meaningful way to industry growth by bringing BTMA into the Grow Boating initiative.”
In June 2019, Potter received the BTMA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Johnson said Potter has been a “source of inspiration” to the EZ loader Team. “His contributions will always be valued and remembered, along with his hard work, commitment and innovation,” wrote Johnson.
