Annapolis shows debut new website

On the eve of their return, the Annapolis sail and power shows launched a newly designed easy-to-navigate website.

Visitors to will find a new streamlined website designed to allow easier navigation of everything the boat shows offer and includes a variety of tools, such as site maps, exhibitor lists, premiering boats, show guides, directions and an inventory of special events.

The site is mobile- and tablet-friendly, making it easier for show goers to buy tickets in advance and avoid standing in line at the gate.

An annual celebration of sailing and boating, the United States Sailboat and Powerboat shows will be in downtown Annapolis during back-to-back weekends, beginning Oct. 9.

The U.S. Sailboat Show runs from Oct. 9 to 13; the U.S. Powerboat Show is slated for Oct. 16 to 19; and in the spring, the Bay Bridge Boat Show is scheduled for April 17 to 19 and the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show for April 24 and 25.


American Sailing Association reaches milestone

The American Sailing Association recently certified its half-millionth sailor. Since the association was founded in 1983, its affiliated schools and instructors have taught and certified more than 507,000 people to ASA’s 101 Keelboat Sailing standard.

First set of tariffs on aluminum sheet announced

The U.S. Commerce Department announced the countervailing tariff amounts on aluminum sheet from China, with varying amounts imposed on different Chinese suppliers that are scheduled to take effect within two to five business days.
