Mark Schwabero Brunswick CEO

The 2017 Metstrade Show will open with a breakfast on Nov. 14 that will include a keynote address by Mark Schwabero, chairman and CEO of Brunswick Corp.

His presentation, “Global Marine Trends and Opportunities,” will open the business-to-business trade show. The morning will also feature the presentation of this year’s DAME Design Award. The briefing is hosted by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations.

Schwabero’s presentation will explore the connections between the marine leisure sector and other areas of industrial manufacturing, including how marine leisure compares with other industries. He will provide insights into the challenges that the marine sector is facing and the best ways to overcome them.

After breakfast, Schwabero will give an interview on the InnovationLAB Stage and meet with members of the Metstrade Young Professionals Club.

Schwabero started his career in the automotive equipment sector, working for Navistar International, Bosch Braking Systems North America, Pilkington Libbey-Owens-Ford and Hendrickson International. He became president of Mercury Marine in 2008 and moved to Brunswick as president and COO in 2014 before becoming chairman and CEO in 2016.
