Canados will debut new yachts at Cannes show
Three new Canados models will make their official debut Sept. 6-11 during the Cannes Yachting Festival — the Gladiator 42, the Gladiator 76 and the Canados 971.
Construction of the new 2016 model Oceanic 76 GT is underway for a delivery Aug. 1 in Rome, followed by an inaugural cruise in Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, the company said.
Activity at Canados is robust with two recent deliveries, a 90-foot Open that was sold right after the shipyard was acquired and is cruising in Ibiza, and a 76-foot Classic whose home port is Izmir, Turkey. French entrepreneur Michel Karsenti acquired the Italian yard.
“It is really amazing to be involved in the construction of a custom-made 23-meter at Canados,” designer Cristiano Gatto said in a statement. “I frequently do similar-sized yachts, but nowhere else did I see such approach from a builder. The technical office, as well as the superb internal joinery shop, are simply processing like if it was a 50-meter project. They basically scaled down large yacht processes to smaller yachts, allowing the owner unlimited choices and variants in the smallest details.”
