Chicago in-water show returns in June

The Progressive Insurance Chicago In-Water Boat Show will return in June for a third year and will be held at the 31st Street Harbor.

Organizers said the show, which is scheduled for June 5-8, will feature more than 125 powerboats and sailboats for sale, dozens of vendors showcasing marine accessories and gear and attractions for all ages on land and water, including free paddle sports on Lake Michigan, a floating party barge with food, drink and live reggae music and on-the-water boater education for all levels of experience.

Highlights will include:

• Powerboat and sailing lessons that will offer visitors the opportunity to learn everything from boating safety to advanced docking and precision control

• On-the-water activities that will include kayak and stand-up paddleboard lessons and demonstrations

• An in-water display of antique and classic boats from the Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society

• Complimentary transient boat slips for as long as 4 hours, free secure bike parking and a new and improved parking and shuttle system to the show.
