Consultant and speaker John Spence was added as a speaker at this fall’s Marine Dealer Conference & Expo.

Spence has had many high-profile clients for his speaking engagements through the years, including Pepsi, General Electric, the PGA Tour and last year’s Sail America conference.

“We hired Jeffrey Gitomer as our keynote this year” at the dealer conference, Marine Retailers Association of the Americas president Matt Gruhn said. “We hired Spence to present three separate sessions at the MDCE this year.”

Spence will present a workshop to help dealers in planning, a session titled “Turning Management Inside Out,” and finally, Spence will talk about how to harness change to move a business forward at the MRAA Annual Meeting, Gruhn told Trade Only Today.

“Here's the cool thing: When Steve Jobs died, Apple hired a speaker to come in and talk to their employees about change and how to evolve effectively,” Gruhn said. “That speaker was John Spence and now we have him coming to talk with the MDCE audience. As you can imagine we are very excited to offer yet another high-caliber speaker to our lineup.”

The dealer conference, which will be held Nov. 17-20 in Orlando, Fla., is sponsored by the MRAA and Boating Industry magazine.
