The 59th Annual Houston International Boat, Sport and Travel Show will take place Jan. 3-12 at the Reliant Center in Houston.

The show, which organizers say attracts tens of thousands of people, will feature powerboats, pontoon boats, luxury cruisers, fishing boats and personal watercraft, as well as a huge selection of campers and travel trailers.

In addition to boats, the Houston Boat Show has other items for outdoor enthusiasts, ranging from boating, fishing and camping equipment and accessories to patio furniture, art, jewelry and clothing.

This year, those who attend will be greeted by live sharks as part of the only traveling shark show in the country. The presentation will include an educational portion dedicated to the preservation of sharks.

For veteran and beginner fishermen there will be dozens of seminars, including expert fishing demonstrations at the 5,000-gallon Bass Tub aquarium. Fish-O-Rama, a Houston show tradition for children, is returning, as is Bubble Runners, a giant human hamster ball that glides across an indoor pool.
