IBEX 2012 VIDEO: Mercury unveils joystick system

Mercury Marine began showing its joystick helm control system for outboard engines publicly for the first time Tuesday at IBEX.

A display prominently stood out near one of the main entrances to the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference in Louisville, Ky. A helm station setup was hooked to twin 300-hp Verados.

Trade Only senior reporter Chris Landry interviewed the man in charge of the project — Louis Miller, Mercury's product manager of digital rigging and the precision rigging group.
