IBEX names new show director

Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the National Marine Manufacturers Association, owners and producers of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference, promoted Anne Dunbar to IBEX show director.

With more than 25 years of experience in the marine industry, Dunbar is an experienced business, sales and marketing professional, according to show organizers.

She has been the marketing director of IBEX since 2001. Her previous jobs in the industry included advertising sales and management positions at Boating Industry magazine, Soundings and Soundings Trade Only and associate publisher of Professional BoatBuilder and WoodenBoat magazines.

In June, Dunbar received a master’s degree in creativity and change leadership from Buffalo State University of New York.

“We are delighted to announce Anne's promotion today,” Carl Cramer, publisher of Professional BoatBuilder and WoodenBoat magazines and past IBEX co-director, said in a statement. “I've had the benefit of knowing Anne since the days of [the International Marine Trades Exhibition and Conference]. Her contributions to IBEX have been immense, and I'm very happy and excited about this next step in her career. Everyone associated with IBEX — exhibitors, attendees, and all our staff — will benefit greatly from Anne's leadership on this event.”

“Anne’s dedicated leadership of the IBEX show and the IBEX team will take IBEX to new heights to best serve the needs of the recreational boating industry,” NMMA president Thom Dammrich said in a statement. “Anne’s total focus on the needs of IBEX exhibitors and attendees will assure that IBEX continues to serve the most vital industry needs in the years ahead.”
