IBEX readies for its Tampa debut

Thousands of marine industry professionals will gather at the Tampa Convention Center next week as the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference is held there for the first time.

IBEX, which runs Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, will feature more than 550 exhibiting companies, including 142 that did not exhibit in 2013 and 80 first-time exhibitors that will be showcasing thousands of new products, advanced processes and the latest innovation.

“We have seen a 34 percent increase in preregistration and are excited to host this leading industry event for the first time in Tampa and offer several new and innovative special features, including on-the-water demonstrations,” IBEX show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement.

The new venue in Tampa enables the addition of on-water demonstrations that the previous venue in Louisville, Ky., did not allow.

Other options on tap will be an opening night Party for a Purpose networking event, several live, interactive show floor displays, pre-show Super Sessions, more than 55 technical seminars, free exhibitor workshops and the annual Innovation Awards.

“This year’s gathering of thousands of industry professionals is sure to be the must attend event of the year to source the most advanced products and trends in the boatbuilding industry,” Dunbar said.
