Interlux returns as WoodenBoat Show competition sponsor

AkzoNobel’s Interlux paint brand will sponsor the “I Built It Myself” wooden-boat competition at the 25th edition of the WoodenBoat Show, set for June 24-26 at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Conn.

“I Built It Myself” provides a stage for as many as 50 boats and attracts boat owners, builders and enthusiasts. In previous years the collection has included kayaks, skiffs, daysailers and canoes by designers such as Lain Oughtred, Joel White, Chesapeake Light Craft, Arch Davis and William and John Atkin.

Providing visitors with demonstrations of practical boating projects such as carpentry, building, sanding, painting and upholstery, the show gives enthusiasts an opportunity to learn DIY techniques that enable them to carry out projects to a prize-winning quality.

Interlux experts will brief visitors about paint and painting techniques and answer questions about company products that are formulated for wooden boats.
