ISS hands out design and leadership awards

The Benetti yacht Ironman won the International Superyacht Society’s design award in the 24- to 40-meter category.
The International Superyacht Society announced the winners of its 2016 Design and Leadership Awards at its awards gala in Fort Lauderdale.
The event was held Wednesday night on the eve of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The awards of distinction and leadership award were:
2016 Excellence in Innovation — Triton Submarines
2016 Business Person of the Year — John Allen, Quantum Marine Engineering
2016 Distinguished Crew Award — Capt. Bill Zinser
2016 ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award — Capt. David Tomlinson
2016 ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award Legacy Tribute — Kay Rybovich family
2016 Leadership Award — Jonathan Beckett, of Burgess.
The design awards were:
Best sailboat 24 to 40 meters — 114.8-foot Nikata by Baltic Yachts, Nauta Design, Rolf Vrolijk
Best sailboat over 40 meters — 150.9-foot Unfurled by Vitters Shipyard, Germán Frers Stirling & Co.
First passenger yacht code — 300.3-foot Equanimity by Oceanco, Andrew Winch, Azure
Best refit — 223.1-foot Falcon Lair by Composite Works/Feadship, Olesinski, Feadship
Best power 24 to 40 meters — 124.7-foot Ironman by Benetti, Stefano Righini, AKJ Design
Best power 40 to 65 meters — 180.4-foot Atlante by CRN, Nuvolari Lenard, Gilles et Boissier
Best power over 65 meters — 274-foot Savannah by Feadship, CG Design, Feadship, De Voogt NA
Best interior — 108.6-foot Narvalo by Nauta Yachts.
