Keynote speaker named for pre-IBEX marketing conference

Grow Boating said Marcus Sheridan, president of The Sales Lion, will be the keynote speaker at the Grow Boating Marine Industry Marketing Summit.

The half-day conference will be held at the Tampa (Fla.) Convention Center from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, the day before the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference opens.

Sheridan has been named by Forbes as No. 6 on the list of 20 Speakers You Shouldn’t Miss the Opportunity to See. He began his career by starting a business with two friends, working out of the back of a pickup truck installing swimming pools.

Nine years later, with the help of inbound and content marketing, Sheridan’s company reportedly became one of the largest pool installers in the country. Additionally, the company says it has the most visited swimming-pool website in the world.

In late 2009 Sheridan started a blog, The Sales Lion, which focuses on sales, marketing and personal development. The New York Times referred to Sheridan as a “web marketing guru.”
