Gordy’s Lakefront Marine accepted Boating Industry magazine’s Dealer of the Year Award Wednesday night in Orlando. Fla.

Gordy’s Lakefront Marine of Fontana, Wis., received the Dealer of the Year award at Boating Industry magazine’s Top 100 Dealers gala awards ceremony Wednesday night in Orlando, Fla., in conjunction with the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo.

“Even amongst the best dealers in North America, the Gordy’s team stands out from the crowd because of their focus on family, service and quality,” Boating Industry magazine editor-in-chief Jonathan Sweet said in a statement. “It’s that dedication to creating the best experience for their customers and team members, while still maintaining a successful business, that makes Gordy’s the 2014 Boating Industry Dealer of the Year.”

The Whowell family, including patriarch T.W. Whowell, sons Tom and Steele Whowell, daughters Rallee Chupich and Tigrr Workman, along with key members of the dealership team, were on hand to accept the award.

“On behalf of the Whowell family, we are honored and humbled to have been recognized by Boating Industry as its 2014 Dealer of the Year,” said Steele Whowell, owner and director of marina operations. “This award would not be possible without our team, who works so very hard every day to take care of our customers.”

“In addition, we especially appreciate the amazing partnership we enjoy with Cobalt Boats, whose boat quality is only matched by the quality of their people, as well as the support we receive from both our Cobalt and MasterCraft 20 Groups who collectively challenge, motivate and inspire us to be the very best we can be,” he said.

Rounding out the top three dealers were Russell Marine of Alexander City, Ala., and the Singleton Marine Group of Buford, Ga.
