METS exhibitor numbers close to last year

Stand sales for November's Marine Equipment Trade Show are virtually on par with last year's show, and in addition to securing 1,000 repeat exhibitors, METS will also welcome nearly 150 new companies, organizers say.

METS is set for Nov. 17-19 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

"We're proud of the result, especially when you hear that exhibitors cancelled other shows and marketing activities but say that exhibiting at METS can make the difference between a difficult year and an impossible year ahead," acting METS product manager Sarah Westdijk said in a statement.

In the METS halls, newcomers are from Italy, China, the United States, France and Germany, and in the SuperYacht Pavilion new representation is highest from the Netherlands, Italy and the U.S., organizers say.

Exhibitors and attendees will benefit from the fresh layout of METS 2009, which revolves around the new Elicium building where the DAME Presentation and Media Plaza are located, according to organizers.

"All exhibitors now have full information on their new location," Westdijk confirms. "It has been difficult to relocate so many companies, but the revised layout has been well-received and gives the show a wonderful new look."

METS, the world's largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry, is organized by Amsterdam RAI in association with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations.
