METS expands final-day hours for 2014 show

The Marine Equipment Trade Show, which is scheduled for Nov. 18-20, will open at 9 a.m. on the last day this year, an hour earlier than in previous years, organizers said Wednesday.

“We took this decision during a meeting with the exhibition committee,” Amsterdam RAI maritime domain manager, Irene Dros said in a statement.

“It reflects the feedback from visitors who wish to spend even more time at the show. Such is its productive nature. As the evenings are filled up with networking activities like the METS Canal Cruise and various exhibitor receptions, the morning offers the best opportunity for an extension. And, of course, when visitors spend more time on the exhibition floor, this gives exhibitors the opportunity to increase their ROI."

The annual business-to-business event will return to the Amsterdam RAI Convention Center. It will open at 10 a.m. on Nov. 18 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 19.

METS announced record attendance of 20,500 professionals at the 2013 show, which was held from Nov. 19-21.

Show hours this year will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 18; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 19; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20.
