Sail America adds regatta to 2014 conference

Sail America has scheduled a regatta to accompany its fourth biennial Industry Conference June 9-11, 2014, at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina in Mount Pleasant, S.C.

The regatta will be held June 9 at the College of Charleston.

"The regatta brings an element of fun and friendly competition to the conference," Sail America association manager Peter Durant said in a statement. "It's a great way to start off the event. Everyone loves a regatta.”

Registration for the Sail America Industry Conference Regatta will open in the spring. Each boat must have a crew of four. The top three winners will be honored at Sail America's Industry Dinner on June 10.

The trade association’s most recent regatta in June 2012 hosted 12 teams and four races. The winner in 2012 was Gill North America.
