Sail Newport sets James Bond-themed fundraiser

Sail Newport is holding a 007-themed fundraiser on May 10, with prizes going to the best original James Bond costumes.

Costumes will be awarded in categories that include the best James Bond, the best Bond girl, the best Bond movie character and the best group.

The fundraiser, called “007: Shipwrecked Never Dies,” has a Pinterest page to help attendees get costume ideas. (Think decades of Bond girls.)

A silent auction will feature artwork, jewelry, travel and “unique experiences,” and the event will have a bar and live music.

A shuttle will run from downtown Newport, R.I., to the event, which will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight at Hood Sailmakers in Middletown, R.I.
