This roundup of upcoming shows and events includes news from the Newport (Calif.) Boat Show, Boot Düsseldorf in Germany, the Providence (R.I.) Boat Show and the Boat Show in Springfield (Ill.).

The 40th Newport Boat Show will take place April 18-21 at the Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, Calif.

There will be more than 200 boats on display and no limit to the size of bigger vessels, show organizers said in a statement. The venue includes big boats, trawlers and sailboats.

Boot Düsseldorf, the German city’s weeklong boat show, will open Saturday and continue through Jan. 27.

The 44th International Boat Show Düsseldorf, or boot 2013 Düsseldorf, will continue the industry’s focus on fair trade activities.

About 40 percent of the exhibitors at the show will be from countries other than Germany. The largest foreign contingent will be from the Netherlands, with 140 exhibiting boatyards, equipment and service providers, followed by France and Italy with 50 exhibitors each.

The 20th annual Providence Boat Show starts Friday and continues through Sunday. The show will take place at the Rhode Island Convention Center, and it features recreational fishing seminars, raffles and educational seminars.

The 20th annual Boat Show in Springfield will be held at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Feb. 22-24.

The show, managed by JLS Marine, will offer pleasure and fishing boats from several local dealers, including aluminum and fiberglass fishing boats, ski boats, pontoons, runabouts and personal watercraft.
