The early-bird attendee registration deadline for the 2013 NMEA International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo is July 19 and visitors can save $100.

Organizers say 65 percent of the booth spaces are sold, but some key locations are still available for those interested in exhibiting. The show takes place Sept. 25-28 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina in California.

Manufacturers will receive NMEA Product Award nomination forms during the week of July 15. Manufacturer members are asked to return their nomination form promptly to ensure that outstanding products receive maximum exposure and consideration for the 2013 NMEA product awards and the annual Boating Writers International technology award.

Singapore Yacht Show organizers will launch a new charter yacht show to be hosted annually at Phuket Yacht Haven in Thailand.

The inaugural show, which will be held in mid-December 2014, will combine aspects of yacht charter with the boating industry and luxury lifestyle events. Seeking to attract industry members and consumers alike, the event will be staged in the biggest superyacht marina in the Asia-Pacific region. The marina is being redeveloped by its owners.

"After several years of really focused promotion, the number of yachts visiting Asia is at last becoming significant — and growing rapidly. We see this huge region, from Myanmar and the Andaman Sea to Australasia and the Pacific Islands, as being very important for the international industry," Singapore Yacht Events managing director Andy Treadwell said in a statement.

Singapore Yacht Show organizers said the fourth edition of the growing regional show will be held April 10-13, 2014.

Returning to the vibrant atmosphere of One15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove, the 2014 event will continue to build on the results of this year’s show, which saw visitor registration numbers and on-water yacht and boat displays double from the previous year, organizers said.

Next year’s show will bring the largest superyachts at the show, including some that are bigger than 230 feet, into the main on-water exhibition area.
