Southampton Boat Show opens in England

The 45th on-water Southampton Boat Show in England, which runs through Sept. 22, opened today and organizers said it will feature more boats, brands, products and suppliers than ever before.

Almost 100 boats are scheduled to make their debut at the show, according to its website, including 28 world launches. These range from small dinghy tenders, such as the FoldAway 8 and the NautiRaid Coracle 250, to sailing and motor yachts such as the Bavaria Vision 42 and Gunfleet 58. There also will be luxury motoryacht launches from Princess, Sunseeker and Fairline.

Honda, Yamaha and the Royal Yachting Association have come together with National Boat Shows to provide interactive learning experiences. Sessions will cover PWC, RIBs and powerboats of varying sizes and designs.
