The Summer Sailstice launched a new website where participants can post sailing plans or events.

"Organize an event" and "find an event" buttons give visitors the tools and ability to easily enter club, class or sailing plans for the 2013 Sailstice, which takes place during the weekend of June 22.

Events that include the DelMarva Rally in the Chesapeake are already posted.

The Sailstice, which is designed to create a day in which everyone with a sailboat hits the water, added a number of prizes for those who sign up for the site and start their summer of sailing on the weekend of June 22 — the one closest to the summer solstice. Prizes include life jackets, binoculars, America's Cup items, kayaks and winch handles.

Bernard Portet and sailing buddies Jason Anglin and Dr. Joe Pramuk won the $5,000 BVI charter certificate from Footloose Sailing Charters in 2012.
