Among the new boats debuting at today’s opening of the Newport (R.I.) International Boat Show are a 30-foot one-design racing sail yacht from C&C Yachts and a 42-foot power yacht from Prestige.

The C&C 30 One Design offers the thrill and technology of big-boat grand prix sailing in a size that's fun, easy to sail and affordable, the Rhode Island builder said. The yacht combines a stiff, slippery-fast hull, a powerful sail plan and ultra-high-tech construction and materials with an efficient deck layout inspired by the TP52 class.

Look for the new boat at the Newport show, which continues through the weekend, and The United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis from Oct. 9-13.

The Prestige line of luxury motoryachts welcomes two newcomers this year, the Prestige 420, debuting at the Newport show, and the 750, which will make its North American debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Oct. 30 to Nov. 3).

At 41 feet, 5 inches, the Prestige 420 is an elegant flybridge cruiser with plenty of creature comforts and get up and go to get owners anywhere and everywhere their heart desires in grand style, the company said.

Offered with the customer’s choice of either twin Volvo IPS 400 or 500, the Prestige 420 provides plenty of performance and maneuverability. Also at the Newport show will be the Prestige 550 and Prestige 620.
