Boat Trader's recent survey showed that nearly a third of boaters use their mobile devices for Web browsing "all the time," while 55 percent of respondents use their mobile phones for text messaging. In the third quarter of 2009 - and prior to the launch of the Boat Trader iPhone application - BoatTrader.com generated nearly 1 million views from mobile devices; 84 percent of those were from Apple iPhone or iPod Touch devices, which is illustrated in the graph. Since its launch in mid-October, more than 1,100 users have downloaded the app and viewed 49,000 pages.
