This month, we revisit the most popular searches of manufacturers utilized by visitors to BoatTrader.com to look for shifts in brand interests. Seasonally, there are fewer members of the boating public visiting the site. Compared to August, the number of unique visitors in November decreased as it does every year from close to 2 million to 1.1 million, although they were still just as active once they reached the site, averaging 18 page views each visit.

In BoatTrader.com's Top 20 Manufacturers chart for November, with more than 40,000 searches for its boats, Sea Ray still holds a big lead at No. 1, just as it has for many years. However, Boston Whaler moved into second place ahead of Bayliner and Ranger, which were Nos. 2 and 3 a year ago, as well as for the 12-month period from December 2009 to November 2010. Grady-White rounds out the top five, as it did last November. Its ranking for the 12-month period is at No. 12; in the summer months, brands such as MasterCraft, Baja, and Malibu climb the charts.

The number of searches from BoatTrader.com's drop-down menu of manufacturers is very competitive, with the No. 6 to No. 20 builders all within about 5,000 searches of each other. No. 7 Chaparral has made the strongest move into the Top 10, climbing 10 spots from a year ago. Cobalt, Crownline and Yamaha have also moved up several places each since November 2009.
