When consumers search for boats on Boat Trader, what’s most important? We dug into the 6.3 million searches that users conducted from June to September and pulled up the results at left, which show the proportion of people who used different search parameters.

The majority select type, which on Boat Trader means power, sail, PWC or small boats (canoes, inflatables, etc.).

It seems logical that nearly half would choose class (center console, bowrider, etc.), because that would eliminate the need to select type, but we were interested to find an equal percentage of people choosing brand — even more than the number who included a price in their search.
