In the third month of our series studying state-by-state interest in the more popular boat classes on Boat Trader, we move from the previous saltwater fishing boats and motoryachts to bowriders. Website traffic data was recorded from July through December 2015.

Florida again leads the list, but compared with its lead in the other two classes, it holds a relatively narrow margin of 2 percent. The runner-up is Illinois, which ranked 19th and 7th in previous months, and is followed by population powerhouses Texas, New York and California — states that were featured in the top five in all three classes.

Not surprisingly, residents of freshwater states Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Missouri show their affinity for the bowrider by putting their states in the top 10 of this ranking; so does Georgia, whose residents seem to love all types of boats.
