Center consoles are the most popular class of powerboat in many states, especially on the East Coast and Gulf Coast. They are generally versatile boats for fishing and family activities, and they’re capable in rougher water, although they can also be wet, which makes them preferred in warmer water.

In last month’s Data Tracker, we reported the states in which the most visitors to Boat Trader were viewing pontoon boat listings between November 2013 and October 2014. This month, we look at total page views for center consoles, which were the most popular class of boat viewed on Boat Trader during that period.

Florida, which leads in so many things boating, was No. 1 by a long shot, with 3.3 million views, more than a third of all center-console listing views in the U.S. Florida was followed by Georgia and Texas, with less than a million each. East Coast states filled out the rest of the top 10; the best-ranked state not bordering the Atlantic or Gulf was No. 12—California. The top freshwater states were Michigan and Ohio at 15 and 16.
