In the June issue we published a ranking of brands, based on the total number of listings for used boats on Boat Trader’s website. This month, we look at the brands again on the basis of which brands’ listings were most viewed by consumers and compare the ranking for the 12 months that ended April 30 with a ranking of the previous 12 months.

Sea Ray and Boston Whaler were the top-viewed brands during both years. Among the top five brands the only notable change was that Ranger moved up from fifth to third, ahead of Bayliner and Chaparral.

The rest of the top 10 remained the same, but we see movement throughout the rest of the top 20. Performance-boat brands, including Formula and Contender, made strong gains, and Contender and Sea Hunt joined the top 20.

Wellcraft, Four Winns and Chris-Craft also moved up. Malibu, Tracker, Sea-Doo and Hurricane fell in the rankings. Crownline and Baja dropped out of the top 20.
