The classes of the most-viewed boats on a site such as Boat Trader are a pretty good indication of market interest. Among visitors to the site in the last six months of 2015, no class was more interesting than center consoles.
Close to half a million internal searches helped generate more than 5 million page views of models in that class.
The pages showing boats in most of the other top classes were viewed between 1 million and 2.5 million times. The exceptions included cruiser models in second place, at 3.6 million, a number that combines power and sail cruisers.
Third was saltwater fishing boats, with 2.7 million. Considering that most center consoles are fitted out for fishing, it’s clear that rod-and-reel activity drives a great deal of shopping interest on Boat Trader.
