Dealers: Will imports continue to make gains in the U.S. market?

A new survey is asking marine dealers to weigh in on December market conditions, and also forecast whether retailers think European and other foreign boatbuilders will continue to gain ground in the U.S. marketplace.

The brief, five-question survey, called the Pulse Report, was launched by the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas and Baird Research in 2013. Soundings Trade Only later partnered with Baird to help distribute the survey and report its results.

The surveys analyze industry data points like new-boat demand, inventory levels and access to credit. They also include the Marine Retail Sentiment Index, a confidence index for retailers.
