A new survey asks marine dealers to weigh in on December market conditions, and forecast whether retailers believe European and other foreign boatbuilders will continue to gain ground in the U.S. marketplace.

The five-question survey, known as the Pulse Report, was launched by the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas and Baird Research in 2013. Soundings Trade Only later partnered with Baird to help distribute the survey and report the results.

The surveys analyze such industry data points as new-boat demand, inventory levels and access to credit. They also include the Marine Retail Sentiment Index, a confidence index for retailers.
