ABBRA hands out annual awards

The American Boat Builders & Repairers Association recently presented six awards at its annual conference.

The awards included:

• The Dennis Snow President’s Award, which is given annually to the individual or organization that makes a significant and lasting contribution to improving the state of the boatyard industry was presented to Neal Ross.

• The Award of Excellence in Customer Care was presented to Noank Village Boatyard of Noank, Conn.

• ABBRA’s Award of Excellence, or “Boatyard of the Year,” was presented to Jarrett Bay Boatyard of Beaufort, N.C.

• The Award for Excellence in Innovation was presented to Kittery Point Yacht Yard of Kittery, Maine.

• The award for Commitment to Training was presented to Susan Swanton, executive director of the Maine Marine Trades Association.

• The Excellence in Safety & Environmental Practices was awarded to Kingman Yacht Center of Cataumet, Mass.
