Barcelona, Spain-based Marina Port Vell appointed Marcel Brekelmans as managing director.

A native of the Netherlands, Brekelmans has spent many years as a project and managing director in hotel administration, with experience in branding, opening and preopening of properties, and repositioning notable hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Caribbean.

“The extent of Marcel’s direct experience managing some of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands makes him ideally suited to provide leadership, to develop operating budgets, to set standards for the highest level of customer relations, and, perhaps most importantly, to bring the marina and our yachting guests an unparalleled level of sophistication,” Salamanca Group vice chairman Uri Nachoom said in a statement.
