Wilmington, N.C.-based Bennett Brothers Yachts is celebrating 30 years with an open house on Nov. 12.

The boatyard on the Cape Fear River will feature live music, regional oysters, local barbecue and Wilmington craft beer.

Bennett Brothers Yachts was left unharmed by Hurricane Matthew as it affected the Cape Fear Coast earlier this month.

Preparation by local and visiting boats in the region began ahead of the storm. The Bennett Brothers staff acted on full alert, accommodating as many boats as possible in its yard and in-water dock space.

“Thankfully boats in our yard and on our docks were left unharmed,” the company said in its announcement. “We appreciate everyone who reached out to us for safe haven and hope we can accommodate as many boaters as possible in the future.”
