Brewer South Freeport Marine was recently named Maine's newest Clean Boatyard/Marina.

"Formalizing our commitment to protecting coastal waters and the marine environment is something we're focused on as a company," general manager John Brewer said when accepting the award.

"We operate 21 marinas and boatyards in the Northeast, from New York to Maine, so we recognize that it's important for us to do out part to protect the resources upon which we depend for business and recreation," he added.
