Maryland-based Clarks Landing has formed Mid-Atlantic Boat Wholesalers, a division of the Clarks Landing Marine family.

"Today's economic environment has burdened the marine industry's banks and finance companies with an unprecedented number of repossessions and surrendered collateral," the company said in a statement.

"The collection and recovery units of these banks are being increasingly challenged not only to improve payment collection, but also to manage the repossession and collateral remarketing process in a manner that expedites a boat sale and maximizes the financial return," the statement said.

Clarks Landing has six locations.
