Edgartown Marine announced that George Rogers Jr. and Sheryl Roth Rogers acquired Edgartown Marine Inc. and Edgartown Marine Boat Services from longtime owners Tony Chianese and Maurice Dore.

Edgartown Marine operates a full-service, year-round boatyard and is one of the largest indoor and outdoor boat storage facilities on Martha's Vineyard.

“We looked long and hard for the right person to acquire our business,” Chianese said in a statement. “We wanted someone that understood the unique character of the island and the select clientele that we have developed solid business relations with over the past decades.”

The couple is following a dream in returning to the island after corporate executive business experience in finance and marketing, according to the release.

“We are very excited about having the opportunity to guide Edgartown Marine, a leading boat storage and hauling provider for Martha's Vineyard, as well as an excellent boat detailing, repair and service resource for boaters throughout Martha's Vineyard,” George Rogers said in a statement. “We look forward to meeting with our clients and our prospective clients and continuing to expand the services offered to boaters on Martha's Vineyard.”
