Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Regal Marine, Bluenose Yacht Sales & Brokerage, Glasstream Powerboats, Saunders Yachtworks, Little Yacht Sales,  Continental Engines and Galati Yacht Sales LLC .

More than 70 percent of North American Regal dealers, along with international distributors from 35 countries, attended Regal Marine Industries' recent dealer conference.

Regal used the occasion to unveil its new 35 Sport Coupe.

"This is my first Regal dealer conference since becoming a Regal dealer. Changing over to Regal is the best decision our organization has made," said Ray Hutchinson, of Safe Harbor Boat & Lift Sales, Kimberling City, Mo., in a statement. "While the competition is trying to find ways of taking features out to reduce cost, Regal is developing ways to improve practices and processes to add innovative features and progressive products that are exceptionally well priced."

During the Regal awards banquet, dealers received recognition for the categories of sales performance and customer satisfaction, leading up to the Top 20 dealers and culminating with the top awards. The No. 1 international distributor is Speedo Marine of China; the No. 1 CSI dealer is Chesapeake Master Marine of Williamsburg, Va.; and the No. 1 dealer worldwide is Crates Lake Country Boats of Ontario, Canada.

"Although specific dealerships were awarded for their achievements during the 2010 model year, we acknowledge and applaud our entire worldwide network of premier Regal dealers who continuously adjust their business models to remain diligent and committed to success, even in the most challenging of times," Tim Kuck, executive vice president and COO, said in a statement.

Bluenose Yacht Sales & Brokerage is now representing C&C Yachts in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine.

"This is a great brand here in the Northeast for nearly 50 years," Bluenose Yacht Sales managing partner Glenn Walters said. "The Tartan/C&C company has completely reorganized itself with new ownership and a solid commitment to quality and customer service. We intend to support existing C&C customers with our brokerage skills, and for our new buyers we will make sure the after-sale support exceeds expectations."

Glasstream Powerboats added D'iberville, Miss., dealer Darrin's Marine to its network.

"Glasstream is thrilled with the addition of Darrin's Marine. He has been a fixture in his Mississippi community for over 15 years and continues to provide excellence service to his customers," the boatbuilder said in a statement. "That's what being a good dealer is all about. We're not just in the business of selling boats, but also in making long-lasting partnerships."

Saunders Yachtworks added Volvo Penta to its line of authorized service dealerships, the company announced. The deal will authorize Saunders to service, sell and install Volvo engines and propulsion systems.

"We are very pleased to add Volvo to our line of authorized service dealerships," Saunders Yachtworks president John Fitzgerald said. "The Volvo engines with the IPS pod drives are moving into every style of vessel that make up our customer base. Additionally, we have now seen Volvo enter the repower market, which will fit with our history of success with new propulsion installations."

Saunders Yachtworks has facilities in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Ala.

Little Yacht Sales opened its doors in Waterford Harbor Marina in Kemah, Texas.

Longtime broker Kent Little started the brokerage last month after 19 years with a previous company.

"The goal of Little Yacht Sales is simple: to provide our clients with the best advice, expertise and service before, during and after the sale. We believe in an informative approach, rather than a high-pressured environment, as this best serves the needs of our clients," Little said. "After 27 years in yacht sales, I've seen what works and what does not work in this business. I believe that we have a great model and business plan to help our clients with their boating needs."

Joining Little in the new business is his wife, Liz, as office manager, and John Brown, who is a yacht broker and an ASA certified sailing instructor.

Greenville, S.C.-based Continental Engines entered into an agreement with Volpi Techno to handle OEM sales and establish a dealer network for the company.

The main product is its model Pagura 5000, which produces 4 kw of continuous power, plus a 300 percent short-term overload capability for air conditioner startup.

Volpi Techno Energia S.r.l. was established in 1933 and specializes in producing diesel marine soundproof generating sets for the marine leisure market.

Galati Yacht Sales, a yacht sales and service business based in Anna Maria, Fla., was inducted into the 2010 Top 100 dealer program's Hall of Fame.

The criteria for induction into the Hall of Fame include being ranked the No. 1 marine dealer in North America by Boating Industry magazine for two consecutive years.

"This is through the efforts of every member of team Galati that have allowed us to achieve this accomplishment," Joseph Galati said in a statement. "We would like to recognize our team for the hard work and dedication they consistently provide our customers through outstanding sales and service."

The Top 100 dealers program recognizes those marine dealers that are unsurpassed in overall business operations, customer service, marketing and professionalism.
