Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Rec Boat Holdings, Grady-White Boats, Knot 10 Yacht Sales, Larson Boat Co., Sandy Hook Yacht Sales, Scout Boats and Global Ocean Security Technologies.

Rec Boat Holdings recently honored several of its North American and international Four Winns retailers for wholesale volume sales and customer satisfaction index scores.

The Top Volume awards are handed out to dealers that excelled in unit volume sales for each dealership. This year's winners were Yugo Misr Trade, largest single store volume, Cairo, Egypt; and Marine Management, largest multistore volume, Edmonton, Alberta.

The Admirals Award is given to marine retailers with multimillion-dollar wholesale sales. Winners were: Marine Management Services, Edmonton, Alberta; The Boat Warehouse, Kingston, Ontario; and Yugo Misr Trade, Cairo, Egypt.

The Outstanding CSI Award was presented to Lodder's Marine of Fairfield, Ohio. This annual award is presented to the Four Winns marine retailer that displays outstanding customer service, which is graded by customer satisfaction criteria that include overall satisfaction with the dealer, the delivery process, dealer personnel and the dealer service experience.

"We're very proud of all our Four Winns retailers and their achievements over the past year," said Roch Lambert, Rec Boat Holdings group president, in a statement. "These award-winning dealers have proven their loyalty to our Four Winns brand by successfully marketing our products while employing smart business practices to be successful."

The Recreational Boat Group, a division of Platinum Equity affiliate PBH Marine Group LLC, builds Four Winns, Glastron and Wellcraft boats.

Grady-White Boats added several new dealerships to its network.

The Marine Collection of South Burlington, Vt., will represent the company in northeast New York, upper Vermont and the Lake Champlain area.

"We are excited to represent Grady-White," said Dave Zullo, owner of The Marine Collection, in a statement. "Enjoying the waters of Lake Champlain requires a well-engineered boat and the Grady-White/Yamaha engine combination is the very best in rough-water capability and reliability."

Treasure Island Marina will represent the brand in northwest Florida.

"We are excited to represent Grady-White Boats and to support Grady-White customers in northwest Florida, old and new, with the highest level of convenience and service they expect and deserve," said Ted Davison, general manager of Treasure Island Marina, in a statement. "We promise that Grady-White customers will enjoy their boating and fishing better than ever with the complete services offered by Treasure Island."

Grady-White Boats and Drummond Marine of Holland, Mich., agreed to a dealership association serving the western Michigan market, including Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, along with the eastern shore areas of Lake Michigan, from north of Muskegon and south to Benton Harbor and beyond.

"Like Drummond Marine Boat Sales, Grady-White is the company that stands head and shoulders above every competitor in terms of customer satisfaction and customer service," owner Dennis Drummond said in a statement. "We are a family-owned business whose mission is to provide the best possible customer service, allowing our customers to enjoy boating with the least amount of problems and that's why Grady-White boats fit our mold perfectly."

Grady-White, located in Greenville, N.C., was founded in 1959 and has been under continuous private ownership since 1968.

Knot 10 Yacht Sales is expanding into New England.

"With our saturation of advertisements, both nationally and regionally, we receive numerous calls from virtually every state, as well as international interest in our listings. We are thrilled to bring an experienced sales team into New England to offer personalized service to our growing customer base," said Judy Benvenuto of Knot 10 Yacht Sales.

The region will be led by sales veteran Rich Feinen. Prior to joining Knot 10, Feinen was a partner in Chauncey Creek Boats, where he led the sales and marketing of custom yachts and traveled from the north shore of Boston to Cape Cod, Nantucket and elsewhere.

Larson Boat Co. in Little Falls, Minn., signed 97 new dealers worldwide in less than a year, the company said.

Larson now has more than 300 dealers representing its products worldwide.

"I've had many wonderful experiences with people I've worked with over my 35 years in the recreational boating industry; however, I can say without hesitation that the people I've worked with at Larson to accomplish what they have over the last approximately nine months has been one of the highlights of my career in the marine industry," company chairman Irwin Jacobs said in a statement.

Larson Boats LLC builds the Larson, FinCraft, Seaswirl/Striper and Triumph brands and the company has two patented processes - VEC and Roplene.

Sandy Hook Yacht Sales, of Sea Bright and Jersey City, N.J., was named New Jersey's full-line dealer for Pursuit Boats.

Sandy Hook Yacht Sales has been a mainstay in yacht brokerage and new sailboats and powerboats, serving the New Jersey market since 1983. Sandy Hook is a certified marine dealership, as recognized by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

In addition to Pursuit, Sandy Hook Yacht Sales represents Sabre Yachts, Back Cove Yachts, Edgewater Powerboats and Maritimo Offshore from Australia.

Scout Boats, of Summerville, S.C., had five of its dealers ranked in Boating Industry magazine's Top 100 Dealers list, including two in the top 10.

The dealerships are:

  • Parks Marina - Okoboji, Iowa
  • Hall Marine Group - Lake Wylie, S.C.
  • Quality Boats of Clearwater - Clearwater, Fla.
  • South Shore Marine Service - Huron, Ohio
  • Vincent Payne Marine Ltd. - Pointe Au Baril, Ontario, Canada

"We are extremely proud of these five dealers," Scout Boats national/international sales manager Alan Lang said. "Their commitment to excellence is a true extension of our corporate philosophy here at Scout."

Scout builds sportfishing, fish 'n ski, walkaround, flats and bay boat models ranging from 15 to 35 feet.

Scout also said it added three dealers to its network, bringing the number of new dealers signed in the last seven months to 20.

They are:

  • Marine Max East (two locations: Miami and Key Largo, Fla.)
  • Shoreline Boat Center (Green Lake, Wis.)
  • Watersports of Central Florida (Sanford, Fla.)

"This new expansion to our already successful dealer network will provide convenience for current and future customers, as well as new markets for our company to strengthen our brand," Lang said.

Global Ocean Security Technologies, formerly Paradox Marine, launched GOST Australia to distribute its marine security and vessel tracking systems in Australia.

GOST Australia will be headed by Blake Cooper, managing director of Queensland-based Atlantis Security.

"The GOST security products range meets the needs of the Australian recreational, commercial and maritime communities and exceeds all relevant Australian Quality Standards," Cooper said in a statement. "We look forward to establishing strategic partnerships with installers and distributors with exceptionally high standards and excellent track records for professionalism and customer service."
