Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Maretron, Shakespeare Electronic Products Group and KVH Industries.

Maretron appointed Arimar SPA as its new and exclusive distributor for Italy, the company announced.

Effective immediately, Arimar will take over all responsibilities for the development of marketing and distribution channels for Maretron products within the country.

"With Arimar, we have found a professional and well-recognized partner to develop the distribution, as well as technical support, for our fast-growing vessel monitoring and control products," said Larry Anderson, Maretron vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement.

"Arimar, having served the Italian marine market for over 20 years, brings Maretron a technical dealer network throughout Italy, along with solid vendor relationships among all of the important boatbuilders in Italy," he added.

Arimar will display the Maretron's product range at the 2011 Seatec exhibition, including several new vessel-monitoring products that will be shown to the boatbuilder trade market for the first time.

Shakespeare Electronic Products Group appointed Belamarin Maritim Electronikk as its distributor in Norway and Sweden.

The company will carry Shakespeare's complete line of high-performance marine antennas.

"We're delighted to be working with such a highly professional organization," said Richard Belfrage, Shakespeare's European sales manager, in a statement. "Their strong relationships across Scandinavia with dealers and boatbuilders will help us expand our reach to not only increase sales, but also better service customers in this important area."

Founded in 1996, Belamarin specializes in marine electronics.

KVH Industries expanded its national sales force with the addition of Global Technical Sales and its subsidiary, Strategic Technical Sales, as sales representatives for its fiber-optic gyro products.

Charlie Fisher, president of Fort Worth, Texas-based Global Technical Sales, will represent KVH and its FOGs and FOG-based systems in Texas and Louisiana. Dave Simon, president of Long Beach, Calif.-based Strategic Technical Sales, will serve as the KVH FOG product representative in California, Arizona and Oregon.

"The addition of Dave and Charlie to our network of sales representatives for FOGs and FOG-based systems enables us to expand our presence in key commercial markets in the West and Southwest," said Jay Napoli, KVH vice president of FOG and OEM sales, in a statement.

"Both of these professionals will be invaluable as KVH continues to build its customer base, focused on applications like gimbaled cameras, equipment payload stabilization, unmanned aerial vehicles and remotely operated vehicles," he added.
