MarineMax is opening a new sales office on Bowen’s Wharf in the heart of Newport, R.I.
The office will represent Azimut-Benetti and will serve as the home port of Azimut’s new Magellano line of long-distance cruising yachts. The grand opening will be held July 16 during the 11th annual Azimut/Marinemax Gala, where more than 30 Azimut yachts are expected to gather.
“We're very pleased to have this new office in Newport for the U.S. introduction of the Magellano 50 at the upcoming Newport International Boat Show. The 50 is the second in a range of specialty Azimut yachts designed to navigate in all weather conditions,” Andrew Schneider, U.S. brand manager for Azimut Yachts at MarineMax, said in a statement. “MarineMax has represented Azimut in the United States for the past 11 years. We look forward to continuing our long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationship.”
The new office also will represent Meridian Yachts, a Brunswick line. In addition, it will specialize in the brokerage of used boats and yachts and will offer used models of MarineMax lines such as Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Cabo and Hatteras.
MarineMax senior sales consultant Frank Brennan, a longtime Newport area boater, will head the Newport office.

Touron and Cummins Power Generation, a division of Cummins Inc., signed an agreement under which Touron will be the exclusive distributor of Cummins Onan marine generators in Spain.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Touron, a well-known and reputable marine dealer in Spain and Portugal. Their slogan is pasión por navegar, or a passion for sailing, and we share that passion,” Neil Phelps, EMEA marine business manager for Cummins Onan, said in a statement.
Cummins Onan, a global leader in marine generators with more than 70 years of marine experience, offers a complete line of marine generators to recreational and commercial boaters.

Tigé Boats announced that Bill's Marine Service joined the worldwide network of authorized Tigé dealerships.
Bill's serves the Maryland area with three locations. The main office is in Oakland, Md., the north location is in McHenry, Md., and the service center is in Swanton, Md.
Bill's will carry the full line of Tigé inboard boats and provide support to local Tige owners.

Sun Country Marine is opening its third location, and second sport yacht and yacht facility, in California.
The dealer has been selling Sea Ray and Meridian sport yachts and yachts in Southern California from its Dana Point Marina office. Sun Country now has opened a second location in Alameda, south of Jack London Square.
“We have been very fortunate to have had the success we have in the sport yacht and yacht market. We have found great partners in Sea Ray and Meridian and look forward to what the future holds for us,” Sun Country operations manager Mike Basso Jr. said in a statement.
To celebrate the opening of its Alameda location, Sun Country was selected by Sea Ray to host the world premiere for the company’s 2012 450 Sedan Bridge.
“We are very excited about Sun Country opening its second Sea Ray sport yacht and yacht facility because of their extensive experience and wonderful customer-first focus,” Sea Ray vice president of sales Mike Burke said in a statement. “The opening of their new location provides a great venue for the debut of our beautiful new Sea Ray sport yacht.”

Dealer Clarks Landing is now offering its First Mate mobile service program for boaters on Chesapeake Bay.
Clarks Landing’s fleet of mobile service trucks and factory-trained technicians will provide boaters with small maintenance items that are often neglected and can lead to larger, more expensive repairs. Included in its over-the-road service are oil changes, tuneups, engine inspections, battery checks and replacements, bilge pump inspections and replacements, and boat detailing.
Areas covered by the Clarks Landing First Mate program include Baltimore, Annapolis, Severn River, West River, South River, Magothy River, and the Eastern Shore and northeast Maryland.
Clarks Landing has been a Sea Ray dealer since 1994 and has offices in Maryland and New Jersey.

The Catamaran Group is opening its ninth Catamaran Center, located at the Lauderdale Marine Center.
The Catamaran Group now offers three Fort Lauderdale locations, in addition to the administrative offices and Las Olas showcase.
“Lauderdale Marine Center is the pinnacle of catamarans. The close proximity to and from Fort Lauderdale International Airport allows our customers quick entry and access to new inventory, along with our dozens of pre-owned catamarans for sale. This office has the most to offer in terms of dock space, repair, maintenance and service for catamarans,” sales manager and president Hugh Murray said in a statement.

To better serve industrial shrink-wrap customers in Canada, Dr. Shrink is working with distributor C.C. Marine.
C.C. Marine will stock a large variety of thick mil, wide-width shrink wrap and work to promote shrink wrap and accessories in the industrial, construction, agriculture and wind energy markets.
“C.C. Marine has a strong presence in Canada, and we're glad to be working with them,” Dr. Shrink president Mike Stenberg said in a statement. “We're looking forward to expanding our horizons in Canada by supplying our products to even more customers and in even more industries.”
