Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Grady-White, Island Yacht Charters, Tigé Boats, Cobalt Boats, Southport Boats, Scout Boats, McMichael Yacht Brokers and Drettmann Yachts.

South Shore Marine, of Huron, Ohio, is a new Grady-White dealership that will serve the Ohio and western Pennsylvania markets.

“Like South Shore Marine, Grady-White is a company that has the roots of its success in customer satisfaction and customer service,” dealership president Tom Mack said in a statement.

“Grady-White offers a terrific selection — the most complete line of safe, sure, big-water-capable boats in the industry,” he added. “There’s one for every Ohio and west Pennsylvania boating family, from versatile dual console Freedom models to 18- to 36-foot center consoles, along with walkaround and express cabin styles.”

Skip and Andrea King, of Island Yacht Charters in the U.S. Virgin Islands, recently received the Dealer of the Year award from Island Packet Yachts for the best overall sales and service of any dealer worldwide.

Also recognized for outstanding customer service and support were this year’s Golden Wrench dealers: Island Yacht Charters, Pierce Yacht Co. (Boothbay Harbor, Maine), Hellier Yacht Sales (New London, Conn.), Gratitude Yachting Center (Rock Hall, Md.), Suncoast Yacht Sales (San Diego) and Signature Yachts (Seattle).

Island Yacht Charters also received a 15-year dealer service award, and Norm and Mary Pierce, of Pierce Yacht Co., and Ray Schrader, of Schrader Yacht Sales (Point Pleasant, N.J.), collected 25-year dealer service awards.

Tigé Boats announced that SkipperBud’s joined its worldwide network of authorized dealerships and will showcase Tigé Boats at its Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan locations.

SkipperBud’s will offer the full range of Tigé models, including its newest model -- the Z3.

“We’ve done the research and are excited to bring Tigé to our showrooms across Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan,” SkipperBud’s Glenn Pollock said in a statement. “We see the positive direction Tigé is headed, and we are happy to be a part of it.”

More than 300 Cobalt dealers from around the world recently took part in the company’s international dealer meeting in Branson, Mo.

“It is a wonderful compliment to have dealers from all over the world take the time to attend our meeting for a few short days,” chief executive Paxson St. Clair said in a statement. “This year, we welcomed not only a huge percentage of our domestic dealers, but were pleased to have 11 dealers from Europe. Showcasing four new models, our dealers are excited and we look forward to the upcoming selling season.”

At the meeting the world’s largest Cobalt dealer, the No. 1 spot in the Top 10 Dealer awards for the second year in a row, went to Arrowhead Boat Sales & Yacht Club, Ketchum, Okla.

Cobalt also recognized more than 50 percent of its dealers for excellent CSI scores.

The 2011 Most Improved CSI Award was presented to Cobalt Sportzyachts, Caringbah, Australia.

The top CSI honoree for the Central sales region was also the Worldwide CSI Award winner: Coralville Marina, Iowa City, Iowa. Western Region CSI honors went to Great Lakes Marine, Littleton, Colo.

Southport Boats, a division of Maritime Marine Group LLC, announced that R&B Power is the latest dealer to join Southport Boats since new ownership began manufacturing operations at the facility in Augusta, Maine.

Since the announcement of the first dealer commitment from Smith Yacht Sales of Hingham, Mass., four other dealers have signed on to represent Southport Boats, the company said.

Along with its first delivery of a Southport 29CC, Northstar Yacht Sales of Portsmouth, R.I., opened its new offices in the heart of Newport, R.I. Madaket Marine will cater to Nantucket, Mass. customers.

Servicing fishing enthusiasts in the area, Montauk Yacht Sales will show off its Southport 27CC at two locations — next to Star Island Yacht Club during the summer months, as well as at its main offices in Freeport, N.Y. Jersey Marine of Somers Point, N.J., also has signed on.

Southport said it expects to announce several more East Coast dealers in the coming weeks, ranging from the Chesapeake to Florida, and is accepting overseas inquiries.

“We are pleased to partner with such high-quality brokerages and dealers,” Southport president Ian Kopp said in a statement. “Their ability to cater to clients wishing to customize their boats is exceptional. From assisting prospective owners with decisions related to helm seating, custom rails or various T-top configurations to supporting existing Southport owners with various seasonal services, our Southport dealers have the ability to deliver.”

Scout Boats recently added six dealers to its roster.

They are:

• Atlantic Boats Inc. (East Wareham, Mass.)

• Compania Mercantil Centroamericana S.A. (Guatemala)

• Erickson Marine (Hastings, Minn.)

• Hamlin’s Marine (Waterville, Maine)

• Ocean House Marina Inc. (Charlestown, R.I.)

• Sea Ray of Savannah (Thunderbolt, Ga.)

“This new expansion to our already successful dealer network will provide convenience for current and future customers, as well as new markets for our company to strengthen our brand,” Scout Boats national/international sales manager Alan Lang said in a statement.

McMichael Yacht Brokers will soon open a new sales office at the Newport Shipyard in Newport, R.I., that will offer new and brokerage services to the marine community.

“We've been fortunate to see our business grow over the past years, thanks to a combination of great brands and the continued service our team of professional brokers provides to the community,” company president Howard McMichael said in a statement. “With more listings in Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut, the new office was an obvious solution.”

It will open Nov. 1.

Drettmann Yachts named Yachting Experts of Coconut Grove, Fla., as its exclusive dealer in Florida, and Central and South America.

“At our very first meetings it was immediately clear that we had lots in common with the fantastic team at Yachting Experts: our shared passion for all things maritime, our determination to come up with new solutions and our strict focus on the customer. We are totally convinced that this combination will enable us to venture successfully into new markets,” Claudia Drettmann said in a statement.
