Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Hydra-Sports Boat Co., Moomba Boats, Prince William Marine Sales, Springline Yacht Sales, Scout Boats and Dometic Marine.
Hydra-Sports Boat Co. recently launched an aggressive campaign to build up its dealer network with nine new dealers signing with the company in the last year.
Hydra-Sports is owned by MCBC Holdings, which also owns MasterCraft Boat Co.
The new dealers include Legendary Marine of Destin, Fla.; Erickson Marine of Sarasota, Fla.; LMC Marine of Houston; Dave Bofill Marine of Southampton, N.Y; and two Massachusetts dealers: 3A Marine Service of Hingham and Hudson’s Outboard in Salisbury.
On the international side, Chivers Marine of Australia; Mac’s Marine of St. Lucia; and KB Marine of Saudi Arabia joined the Hydra-Sports family of dealers.
“While the acquisition of new dealers takes time, many of the brand’s new retail partners have cited the marriage with MasterCraft as a key factor in making the decision much smoother and easier,” the company said in a statement.
“Hydra-Sports, which has a proven track record as a ‘no compromise’ offshore and inshore fishing boat, now has MasterCraft’s reputation for product innovation, world-class boatbuilding and industry-leading brand marketing,” the company added.

The Chicago store is the newest Lauderdale Lakes location. It’s near the Fox River and Chain O’Lakes.
“They know their water sports boats in northern Illinois, so we knew we needed an extremely strong dealer in this area,” Rick Tinker, president of Skier’s Choice, the builder of Moomba Boats, said in a statement. “Lauderdale Lakes was a perfect choice for this market because of their longstanding relationship with Moomba and their proven customer service track record.”

According to a ranking by Boating Industry magazine, four of the five top boat dealers in North America are Sea Ray dealers, including the No. 1 dealer, Prince William Marine Sales in Woodbridge, Va., which earned the top ranking for the second consecutive year.
In addition, Sea Ray dealers make up nine of the top 20 dealers in the rankings and 29 of the top 100, and Sea Ray dealer MarineMax is the first dealership inducted into the Top 100 Dealers Hall of Fame.

Springline Yacht Sales was awarded the Top Ten Dealer Award and Top Ten Customer Service Award at the annual Hunter Marine meeting, which was held last month at the U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Md.
Of 120 dealers, worldwide, Springline was ranked No. 4 in the world and the No. 1 dealer in the United States, the dealership said.
“Springline’s attention to detail and focus on customer service ensure many more awards in their future. Rarely have we seen such hard work and dedication in a new dealer; SLYS knows their industry and have proven their skills, even in tough economic times,” Hunter Marine president John Peterson said in a statement.

Scout Boats had five of its dealers ranked in Boating Industry magazine’s Top 100 Dealers list, including three in the top 20.
The five dealerships are:
• Parks Marina (6th), Okoboji, Iowa
• Quality Boats of Clearwater (11th), Clearwater, Fla.
• Hall Marine Group (15th), Lake Wylie, S.C.
• South Shore Marine Service (30th), Huron, Ohio
• Vincent Payne Marine Ltd. (64th), Point Au Baril, Ontario

Dometic Marine announced the winners of its Dometic International Marine Excellence Awards for distributors and dealers.
Given annually in recognition and appreciation of sales performance and customer service, the awards were presented by Ned Trigg, senior vice president, global marine sales, at a gathering of dealers and distributors during the Marine Equipment Trade Show in Amsterdam. The awards are based on sales of the company’s brands, which include Condaria, Cruisair, Marine Air, SeaLand and Waeco, as well as the company’s own Dometic brand.
“This year’s DIME awards recognize the provision of locally focused support to our global customer base, which is fundamental in continuing to satisfy the needs of the market,” Trigg said in a statement. “I would like to congratulate all our distributors and dealers who have provided exceptional customer service and outperformed expectations this year with high sales.
